Meet Congaree and Penn’s Nubian and Saanen goats.

Both breeds are well suited for dairy production. However, our herd is comprised of only female goats, and without a male, the goats will not be bred and therefore will not produce milk. Our bovid family are pets that love to mingle with guests. Hiking throughout our acres is their favorite activity (book a goat hike)!

 FAQ

  • Yes! Farm passes are included for every guest within the reservation. You will not need to purchase separate farm passes.

  • Our goats are curious, playful, and friendly animals. They enjoy attention and love to “hang out.” Please be aware that the goats might nibble, jump, buck, run, butt, and step on toes.

  • We recommend wearing closed toed, water resistant shoes. Insect repellent and sunscreen are always a good idea, too. If you’ve booked a goat hike, we recommend wearing long pants and long sleeves if you are sensitive to bugs and grass.

  • Goats are sensitive to rain. They don’t mind a sprinkle, but they won’t tolerate a downpour. If the weather is iffy, we play it by ear. If the forecast says 100% chance of rain, we’ll postpone. In the case of inclement weather, you will receive a booking credit to reschedule another goat greet or other agritourism booking at Congaree and Penn. Reservations are nonrefundable no matter the circumstance. Monetary refunds will NOT be issued.

  • Yes, of course! You can find availability and make a reservation on Resy. Reservations are available on a 30 day rolling basis. We recommend choosing a reservation time at least 90 minutes prior to your goat greet or 15 minutes after.

  • You will be able to see the goats from outside of their paddock with a farm pass. If you would like to pet and interact with the goats, you will need to book a goat greet or a goat hike.
