  • Events may begin as early as 10:00 am and must conclude by 9:00 pm. Four hour minimum required.

What’s Included 

Property access

Couples and guests are granted exclusive access at Congaree and Penn, including the quonset hut patio, indoor bar, and the surrounding farm. The garden, orchards, architectural uniqueness, and southern scenery provide a beautiful backdrop with little need for added decoration. 

One hour before and after the venue rental time is provided for setup and teardown.

One hour ceremony rehearsal the week before the event 

To be scheduled based on availability. Ceremony rehearsals the day before the event are not guaranteed. The rehearsal can be added to the Congaree and Penn calendar no sooner than within 90 days of the event. The farm will remain open to the public during the ceremony rehearsal.

* If the guest count exceeds 120 guests, disposable tablewares will be provided to supplement the remaining guest count. Alternatively, the client may rent their own glassware, flatware, and dinnerware in place of all of the offered tablewares.

Our kitchen

We specialize in elevated farm to table cuisine that features Congaree and Penn products, locally sourced and sustainably raised produce and meats, and locally caught wild seafood.

Please note that pricing is based on market cost and is subject to change.

Service Style

  • Recommended for parties of 50 or more guests. All station, salad, entrée, and side selections are the same for everyone must reflect the total number of guests. Vegan substitutions can be provided.

  • Available for parties of up to 75 guests. All salad, entrée, side, and / or dessert selections are the same for everyone and must reflect the total number of guests. Vegan substitutions can be provided.

  • Available for parties of up to 60 guests. Salad, side, and / or dessert selections must be the same for every guest. A variation of up to three entrées is permitted when a seating chart with guest selections is provided.

Beverage Service

  • $5 per guest

    Enjoy a selection of iced tea, shrub sodas, sparkling water & Mexican Coca Cola.

  • $25 per guest for up to three hours of service

    Choose up to five selections of house wine, three local beers, and two ciders for three hours of bar service. An upgraded wine list is available by request. Beer requests can be accommodated pending inventory.

    Additional hours of bar service are $5 per guest

  • The following services are available only as an add-on to the wine, beer & cider package. Add on services cannot be added to cash bar service.

    Liquor Service $8 per guest
    You provide the liquor, we provide the service and standard mixers & garnishes.

    Welcome Beverage $7 per guest
    Congaree and Penn can use a selected beer, wine, or cider to create the welcome beverage. When add on liquor service has been selected, liquor can be used to create the welcome beverage.

    Welcome Bubbly $7 per guest

    Bubbly for Toasting $7 per guest

  • $6 per guest

    Featuring local coffee and a selection of tea sachets.

  • Event guests purchase their own beverages from Congaree and Penn’s regular beverage menu, or the event host provides a credit card before bar service begins. Cash bars are limited to wine, beer, cider, and non alcoholic beverages. Liquor is not permitted. 20% gratuity will be automatically added.

Ceremony

The location is yours for the choosing.

Congaree and Penn provides ten 10-foot long wooden ceremony benches for guest seating. Walk to the ceremony site or hire a tractor pulled farm wagon to escort you and your guests to the destination. Two wagons are available, and each seats up to 25 guests. Farm wagons loop between the quonset hut and the ceremony site before and after the ceremony.  

Farm wagons are $200 per wagon per hour (minimum one hour).

FAQ

  • Yes – while we do not require a beverage minimum, we do require a food minimum of $40 per guest.

  • No. Congaree and Penn requires the use of our own food & beverage program. We only allow exceptions for dessert and add on liquor service (available only to clients who have opted for beer, wine & cider service).

  • All rentals must be delivered, set up, torn down, and removed within the contracted timeframe on the day of the event. Congaree and Penn is not responsible for coordinating delivery, receipt, and / or setup or teardown of rentals.

  • We do not. We recommend that you arrive ready to walk down the aisle. You are welcome to utilize the pergola in the grapevines as a location to “hide.”

  • Decorate as you please! We do not allow anything to be applied to our walls or trees that will cause damage. If you choose to use candles, we require that they be contained to prevent damage to our surfaces. Confetti, glitter, and loose balloons are not permitted. All decorations must be removed without leaving damages.

  • Our sweet spot is 100 guests. We can accommodate up to 200 guests, but this usually requires the rental of a tent, additional furniture, glassware, dinnerware & flatware, and great faith in the weather.

  • Of course! Canine companions are welcome at Congaree and Penn. Fido must remain leashed and monitored at all times, and kept away from our many feathered friends and other farm animals.

  • Because we are the venue, we focus exclusively on making sure the space, food, and beverages are prepared for your event. We do not provide coordination before or during the event. Therefore, clients must hire a professional event coordinator noted on our Vendors We Love list.

  • Because we are an open air outdoor venue, Congaree and Penn does not permit subwoofers or amplified music that exceeds 75 decibels. While we always recommend acoustic bands, low amplification that does not exceed 75 decibels is permitted. Music via Spotify or Amazon playlists may also be played through our house Sonos music system. Only approved musicians are permitted.

  • We do not. You are welcome to provide your own!

  • To secure a date, please email hello@congareeandpenn.com for assistance. A signed booking agreement and a nonrefundable deposit of 50% of the venue rental rate are due immediately to reserve the date of your event. The remaining fees are due at least 14 days before the event date. Payment may be made via ACH bank transfer or credit card. Credit card payments will incur a three percent convenience fee.
