Rental does not include food, beverage, decoration, entertainment, or accommodations. Rates are for site rental only. We do suggest renting a tent for parties of 100+ to accommodate for lawn seating and socializing. They’re not always necessary, but tents do serve as a form of protection for inclement weather. While we're happy to share our list of vendors we love, we want you to love them, too. Congaree and Penn welcomes licensed and insured caterers, bartenders, entertainment, rentals, etc.
Congaree and Penn also boasts its own catering program. We call it Congaree Kitchen.
We recommend that events do not exceed 200 guests. Canine companions are most welcome.
When To book your wedding
See our Mayhaw trees in full bloom in March. Their flowers briefly turn the farm pink, and it’s a coveted sight to see. The Congaree and Penn honeybees will be at the height of their busy season, pollinating the trees and other flora around the farm.
The rice begins to flourish in June. After the plants have germinated, the paddies are flooded and the stalks begin to peek out of the water. The rice grows tall, and the bright green stalks begin to develop grains. We don’t recommend booking a wedding in the summertime. It’s usually unbearably warm, but if you have a brilliant idea that’s perfect for the summer season, please do get in touch!
Congaree and Penn’s muscadine grapes ripen in September, making fall a prime time for grape picking. We also begin to prepare our rice fields for a second seeding. We think the farm is most beautiful in October and November. The weather is cooler, but the lushness of the farm remains through December.
If we’re lucky, we harvest a second season of rice in late November and December. Holidays at the farm are beautiful and crisp, and we enjoy a quiet January of maintaining the farm. While our crops might be dormant, winter is a great time to visit Congaree and Penn, especially if the Mayhaws have an early bloom in late February.
